Last week director Ameer openly criticized Superstar Rajinikanth for supporting the sudden implementation of demonetization move by the Indian Prime Minister. While every supporter of the move including Rajinikanth called it as an effective step to curb black money, Ameer asked whether Rajinikanth can openly reveal the ticket rates and collections made by his recent blockbuster Kabali`.

While the outward criticism incurred the wrath of Superstar fans and many movie buffs. Rajinikanth did not react for Ameer`s criticism in any manner. Ameer also so far never tried to respond and give explanation.

Now in a recent video interview the Paruthiveeran` director has opened up about what made him speak in such a manner against the much loved star while addressing a gathering in a event.

Ilayathalapathy Vijay had also praised the demonetization move but expressed concern about the sufferings of the common man and opined that such problems could have been avoided. Ameer in his latest interview welcomed Vijay`s opinion.

"That should be seen as an expression of anger of a common man. The place I registered it and the way I expressed my views may have been wrong. But my intentions and words are not wrong. Because Rajini sir is the person I love and admire. He is loved by crores and crores of people of this country. Demonetization announcement came at around 8 Pm and he (Rajini) hailed it within a few minutes. At the same time Vijay expressed his views only after five days. I welcome and appreciate his opinion. I expected the same kind of opinion from Rajini sir. Because he is more experienced than Vijay."

Ameer also pointed out that his views should not be considered as support for black money. "Nobody will differ with the pressing need to curb black money. But even politicians like Subramania Swamy have criticised this move. I am ready to enroll myself in the BJP if this move eliminates black money as it is being projected"
