Ameer is a renowned filmmaker in Tamil cinema, who was acclaimed for his movies 'Mounam Pesiyadhe', 'Raam' and 'Paruthiveeran'. The veteran director turned actor recently and played the well-known 'Rajan' character in maverick director Vetrimaaran's 'Vada Chennai'.

We already broke to you in February that Vetrimaaran is reuniting with Ameer for a new movie which marks the directorial comeback of the latter. Ameer is set to direct Vetrimaaran's script in the film 'Iraivan Miga Periyavan' with music by the young maestro Yuvan Shankar Raja. Now, the latest is that the trio is joining forces for one more project that marks their OTT debut.

Director Ameer will be starring in the ZEE5 web series titled 'Nilamellam Ratham', written by Vetrimaaran and music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Vetrimaaran will not only be penning the script but will also be the showrunner and producing it through his Grassroot Film Company. Interestingly, the series will mark the comeback project of director Ramesh Balakrishnan of Pagaivan fame.

The announcement was made during Zee5's promotional event Oru Awesome Thodakkam. Talking at the event, Ameer described the show as a 'raw and brutal' one. "Our project isn't going to be on the softer side and isn't meant for the weak-hearted. Since we don't have the restrictions of business or theatre, Nilamellam Ratham is going to be really close to reality," he added.
