Actress Amrita Rao believes that the rise of social media has changed the concept of popularity of celebs these days. Social media has brought fans close to their beloved stars where they can have one way or two way interactions but it also makes celebs prone to cyber abuse. To Amrita, social media presence should be secondary for an actor.

Here's what she said in an interview, "These days, actors are becoming popular also because of their presence on social media. I think for an actor, being remembered for a character and film is more important." She went on to describe how different popularity was during her debut. She said, "Earlier, it was important to have talent and as an artiste, we used to sharpen our skills. Now there is something called talent management!"

Amrita was last seen in 'Thackeray' alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
