Yesteryear hero Anand Babu has filed a case in the Chennai High Court against the makers of the new movie 'Nagesh Thiraiarangam' directed by Ishaq and starring Aari, Ashna Zhaveri, Latha, Sithara, Manobala and Kaali Venkat.

In his petition Anand Babu has stated that his father the late Nagesh had acted in over 1000 films and had also built and run the Nagesh Theater in T. Nagar. The makers of 'Nagesh Thiraiarangam' did not seek permission to use the name and since the title is aimed at bringing disrepute the legend's name Anand Babu has sought to ban the film. The judges accepted the case and has ordered notice to be sent to the producer, director and Vishal the chief of the Producer Council.
