And, the news that that will give a heartbreak to several high-octane science-fiction movie fans is out. 'Tron 3' is officially not moving forward. Reports claim Disney has decided to pull the plug on 'Tron 3'.

The second tron film released in 2010 titled 'Tron Legacy' did not quite set the Box Office cash registers ringing as Disney might have hoped for. This is believed to be the major reason since the film requires a large budget for the heavy special effects. When unofficial news regarding 'Tron 3' took the Internet by storm back in March, it turned out quite a surprise for the people where it was also mentioned that filming would commence in Vancouver this fall.

Here's an interesting comment on the film's casting:

"Disney had been interested in adding Jared Leto to the cast, but an offer and negotiations had never commenced."

Apparently, it is believed that the plot of the sequel would focus on Olivia Wilde's aggressive nature when cast into the real world. It was also reported that the film would bring back director Joseph Kosinski (Oblivion) along with Garrett Hedlund who played the protagonist Sam Flynn.
