Andala Rakshasi's publicity budget makes news

In an era of wide variety of entertainment options, film promotion has become quite indispensable. Shah Rukh Khan amused the country when he spent an astronomical Rs. 40 cr. on the publicity of Ra.One.

Expending huge sums is not unimaginable for many others in Bollywood. It is true that everyone - be it a superstar or a lesser mortal - realizes that promoting a film is as much an important aspect as making a film. This applies better in case of small films.

Earlier this year, the producer of Ee Rojullo spent more amount on publicity than he had spent on making the film. In August, the makers of Andala Rakshasi are making news like no one. It is learnt that while the film was made at a cost of Rs. 6 cr., the publicity budget is pegged at Rs. 1.5 cr. (approx).

Rs. 70 lakhs is said to be the budget on television advertisements alone. Besides, huge hoardings across the State have raised the budget to a new high. For a film starring newcomers, made by a new director, this is mind-boggling to say the least. For the optimists, it shows how much Sai Korrapati, Dil Raju and Rajamouli have faith in the film.
