Following the tragic terrorist attack in the Pahalgam area of Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 28 tourists and left more than 20 others injured, condolences and reactions have been pouring in from across the country. Among them, actress Andrea Jeremiah has shared a heartfelt message on her Instagram, urging people not to let the tragedy fuel religious hatred.
In her emotional note, Andrea reflected on her own visit to Pahalgam:
“I was once a tourist in the Pahalgam area... My heart aches for the families who lost loved ones. But it aches even more for the people of Kashmir who, after such incidents, must live under increased scrutiny and suspicion.”
She continued by calling for unity and compassion during a time when, she noted, the country seems to be growing increasingly divided along religious lines:
“Our responsibility as citizens is to not give in to hate—especially the kind that targets a particular community or religion.”
Andrea, who rarely comments on political or social issues, said she felt compelled to speak out this time.
“There is no place for hate—not just in my comment section, but in our world,” she wrote, alongside photos from her own trip to Pahalgam, where she interacted warmly with locals.
Her message has been widely appreciated for promoting empathy and cautioning against turning tragedy into division.
