Anne Hathaway thanked Christopher Nolan, an angel, as she would have it, because shortly after she won the Oscar, he called her to take part in the 2014 science fiction blockbuster, Interstellar. She has had all the negativity that is coming at her, attributed to a period of toxicity online, and continues her tribute to Nolan for sticking with her talent and looking past all the negativity around her.

She described to Vanity Fair magazine the tough job offers that followed her co-hosting the Oscars in 2013 and winning the best supporting actress award for Les Misérables. The online load of hate against her, a phenomenon that goes by the name Hathahate, led studios to be scared about casting her and henceforth reduce her opportunities.

What proved vital for Hathaway was such unflinching support from Nolan. And despite the backlash from the trolls, he cast her in Interstellar opposite Matthew McConaughey, a role Hathaway says was one of the most important in her working life.

But since taking on the role of Dr. Amelia Brand in the Interstellar film, Hathaway has diversified her roles in different movies and series, starring as the website owner for a fashion website in The Intern and as a cunning con artist in The Hustle. Still, the ever-resilient Hathaway, in the countless hurdles that she has gone through in her career, advises how worth it is to be one's own when things get hard in show business.
