The actress gave three releases in 2016. However none created the impact that her first film did. After Premam the 20-year-old made a cameo presence in the Malayalam film James & Alice. This was followed by two Telugu films A Aa and Premam. While both the films were successful Anupama's performance in the film was barely noticed. Her fourth film Kodi will hit the screens on Friday, 28 October. The Dhanush-starrer also marks Anupama's debut in Tamil films. The actress was not the first choice for the film. Initially South Indian actress Shamlee was supposed to play the role that Anupama eventually took on.
