Director Anurag Kashyap has once again apologized for his previous remarks about the Brahmin community, which sparked significant controversy related to the film ‘Phule’.
His earlier comments, made while discussing the film, triggered intense backlash and debate among members of the Brahmin community. In response, Kashyap has taken to social media a second time to issue a heartfelt apology.
He stated, “In a moment of anger, while responding to someone, I crossed my limits and spoke wrongly about the entire Brahmin community. Many of my close friends and respected individuals belong to this community and have made valuable contributions to my life. Today, they are hurt because of my words. My family and well-wishers are also impacted.”
Kashyap added, “Some intellectuals I respect are also disappointed in me. By reacting in anger, I stepped away from my own principles. I sincerely apologize to the entire community. What I said was in response to a cheap comment, but I should have expressed myself respectfully. I’m sorry to my friends, my family, and the community for using inappropriate language.”
He concluded by saying, “I will work on controlling my anger to ensure such incidents do not happen again. If I ever need to speak on such matters in the future, I will choose my words more wisely. I hope you all forgive me.”
