In a recent interview, director Vivek Agnihotri made some statements about fellow filmmaker Anurag Kashyap that have gone viral online. Vivek, who previously directed controversial films like The Kashmir Files and The Vaccine War, is now working on a new project titled The Delhi Files.
Speaking about his past collaboration with Anurag Kashyap, Vivek said, "I worked with Anurag on a film called Goal. He was the screenwriter. Initially, Saif Ali Khan and Priyanka Chopra were cast, but due to Saif's personal issues, we brought in John and Bipasha instead. During that time, Anurag used to drink heavily and had no regard for time."
He added that Anurag later introduced Vikramaditya Motwane for writing assistance. Eventually, all creative responsibilities shifted to Motwane, causing a conflict as their visions clashed. "Handling Anurag became very difficult, and the production company had to step in," Vivek stated.
Responding to these claims, Anurag Kashyap posted on social media that Vivek was lying. "They shot the movie in London while I was in India. Vivek didn’t like my or Motwane’s script. He wanted a football movie like Lagaan and used his own writer to create a terrible script. Neither of us ever went to the movie set," said Anurag.
This back-and-forth has caught the attention of many on social media.
