Anurag Kashyap's special gift to Bihar exotica

Bihar – the land of Gautam Buddha completes 100 years of its existence so as the Indian Film industry. B-town quotient of radical cinema Anurag Kashyap pays a unique tribute to the Indian exotica called Bihar which has been a favourite hot spot for plots for makers like Prakash Jha who shoot their films with the lenses of reality.

Anurag’s next ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ does a special item for Bihar. “Jiya ho Bihar ke lala, Jiye tu hazaar Saal” - is a song that pays tribute to Bihar for completing 100 years and wishing it 1000 more years to live.

Anurag Kashyap, we hear has personally gone to Patna today to wish the state luck. Another important thing is that the song is sung by Manoj Tiwari, who himself is a very big name in Bhojpuri cinema.

The film, ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ is about the coal mafia in Dhanbad and the star cast includes Manoj Bajpai, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Syed Zeeshan Quadri and Richa Chadda. The film will be screened at the Cannes Film Festival in the Directors' Fortnight section.
