AR Rahman brings back late singers to life in Superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘Lal Salaam’!

Isai Puyal AR Rahman entered the film industry as a path-breaking music composer in the 1990s. He created waves all over the country by redefining the sound quality of Indian film music. ARR has always been a pioneer in the technological advancements and innovations in music.

Now, the Oscar Winner has astonished the audience by bringing back the vocals of late playback singers using AI software. Though AI has been used in a few Indian songs earlier, this is the first song which officially credits the late singers. Rahman has used the voice of the late singers Bamba Bakya and Shahul Hameed in the 'Thimiri Yezhuda' track in 'Lal Salaam'.

Bamba Bakya is a popular singer sng in '2.0' and 'Bigil' in AR Rahman's music but he passed away 2 years ago. Shahul Hameed is a veteran vocalist who sang many classic songs in ARR's composition in the 90s. He died 27 years ago. Now, their voices are recreated digitally using AI and are used in Aishwarya Rajinikanth's directorial 'Lal Salaam'.

Lal Salaam stars Vishnu Vishal, Vikranth, Superstar Rajinikanth, Nirosha, Jeevitha Rajasekhar, Kapil Dev, Livingston, Senthil, Vivek Prasanna, Thangadurai and many others. Produced by Lyca Productions, it is slated to hit the screens on February 9th. With music by ARR, the film has cinematography by Vishnu Rangasamy and editing by Pravin Baskar.
