Artists Association dream come true

The biggest dream of Dada Saheb Phalke award winner, icon of Kannada cinema industry Dr Rajakumar was to set up an Association to house all the artists under one roof.

When the plot at Jayanagar missed the hands of Artists Association when Dr Rajakumar was living, he had a little hope. But continuous effort of Dr Ambarish in acquiring the land opposite Kannada Sahitya Parishat did not fail. It was during the chief minister JH Patel time; Dr Ambarish was successful in getting this land. When the adjacent land was also needed for the Artists Association, the housing ministry what Dr Ambarish held in Siddaramaiah regime as chief minister supported well. The earlier two housing ministers HM Revanna of Congress and V Somanna of BJP were helpful in acquiring the first piece of land.

Dr Ambarish recalling the past stated that this is a huge complex that is useful for budding talents to make use. There are many contributors in the form of money to the evolution of this building. Zamir Ahmed former minister was one of the contributors with a few politicians.

Dr Ambarish immensely lauded two persons who worked very hard for this building to come up. One is Rockline Venkatesh – he has allotted time from his busy schedule of cinema production, construction, Malls etc. Doddanna senior actor secretary of the Kalavidara Sangha despite of ill health stood up to this structure thanked Dr Ambarish.
