Arunraja Kamaraj started his career as a standup comedian with college buddy Sivakarthikeyan but took one step at a time as a lyricist, singer and actor before donning the director's hat for 'Kanaa' in 2018. The critically acclaimed film produced by Sivakarthikeyan had Aishwarya Rajesh in the lead role and tackled the issues faced in women's cricket and the plight of the farmers.

It was reported a few weeks earlier that Arunraja Kamaraj had narrated a script to Thalapathy Vijay and could helm one of his next projects 'Thalapthy 65' or 'Thalapathy 66'. The promising filmmaker has opened up that he did meet the mass hero and narrated an idea to him but the time to make the film is not now and will definitely happen in the future.

Arunraja Kamaraj gushed that when many aspire to even narrate a story but cannot get an opportunity he got it with Vijay and he is confident that one day the Thalapathy will walk to him and place his hand on his shoulder and ask him when the shooting will begin.

Arunraja Kamaraj's latest project is the independent single 'Kannakuzhi Azhage' which he has written lyrics for and produced under his banner ARK Productions. Its theme is about a writer suffering from writers block and gets out of it after the arrival of the girl of his dreams.
