All accused plead not guilty in Asifa rape case

All accused plead not guilty in Asifa rape case

The gory rape of an eight year old girl Asifa in Kathua has put the nation in a deep state of shock and anger and sadness.  Eight men were accused of rape who had held the girl in captivity for eight days to punish the Bakarwal community to which the girl belonged to.

The latest update is that all eight accused have pleaded not guilty in a Jammu and Kashmir sessions court. One of the accused, a juvenile has moved a bail application as well. In addition to this, all eight have asked the court for a narco-test as well. After the hearing, the seven accused have been taken to the jail under heavy security.
