Thalapathy Vijay and Atlee are a dynamite combo in Tamil cinema with all their movies 'Theri', 'Mersal' and 'Bigil' becoming blockbuster hits worldwide and there is talks that they are reuniting for a new movie as well. Meanwhile, a movie copied from one of theirs has gone on to become a record-breaker.

The Assamese movie 'Ratnakar' has become the biggest hit for that language collecting a massive 10 Crores in its opening week and is still going strong in around 70 theatres in the North East territory. Assamese superstar Jatin Bora who also directs plays a gangster in hiding under a different name and disguise with his little daughter who faces his enemies when they come for him. The film costars Barsha Rani Bishaya, Nishita Goswami, Ashramika Saikia and Sanjeev Hazarika.

Those who have seen 'Ratnakar' have commented on IMDB and other sites that many scenes are copied from Thalapathy Vijay and Atlee's 'Theri'. Its however nice to know that a film with a Tamil connection has become the saviour of the ailing Assamese film industry.
