Atlee to direct new movie for Sun Pictures without Thalapathy Vijay? - Surprising buzz

Atlee, one of the most sensational filmmakers in Tamil cinema is currently involved in the post production work for Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan' costarring Vijay Sethupathi which is releasing on September 7th. The film has a strong Tamil connection with Nayanthara, Priyamani, Anirudh, George C Williams and Ruben on board.
Meanwhile Atlee was the number one contender to direct Vijay in his next movie 'Thalapathy 68' and it was said that Sun Pictures already signed the duo with advance payments. However out of the blue came the official announcement that Venkat Prabhu is directing the project with Vijay bankrolled by AGS Productions.
Industry insiders opine that Atlee and Vijay will collaborate for a future project which most likely could be 'Thalapathy 69' or 'Thalapathy 70'. It is also said that Sun Pictures is keen to start their Atlee project this year itself and Allu Arjun and Yash are in talks. The official announcement is expected in the next few weeks.
