It has already been confirmed that director Atlee is collaborating with Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan for an upcoming film, which is tentatively titled Lion. It has now been reported that Atlee is in talks with yet another Bollywood actor for the remake of his 2016 blockbuster film ‘Theri.’
As per a report by a news agency, Atlee has zeroed in on Varun Dhawan to play the lead role in the movie. However, an official confirmation of the same is awaited. “Varun has met Atlee and they will soon be working together on the Hindi remake of a South film. There’s a good chance that the film may be Vijay and Samantha starrer ‘Theri’,” ETimes quoted a source as saying.
Produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu under his banner V Creations, Theri was an action thriller film written and directed by Atlee, marking his second collaboration with Vijay. The movie also featured Samantha and Amy Jackson in pivotal roles. GV Prakash Kumar had composed music for the film while cinematography was handled by George C Williams.
