'AWE': Fair to attribute it to Nani?

With 'AWE' catapulting itself to the half-a-million mark in the US, commentators are attributing the success to its producer, Nani. Going by this narrative, the film did well more because of Nani's name, the way 'MCA', 'Ninnu Kori' and 'Nenu Local' had done.

While Nani producing the covert omnibus film has definitely been a huge plus for 'AWE' to gain a very good pre-release buzz in the US, one can't take away from the fact that it's riding on its content-driven strengths.

The presence of a multitude of actors (read Kajal, Nithya, Regina, and others), the genre (or the lack of it), and the intriguing trailer have all gone into making it a BO hit there.
