Ayodhya case: Section 144 in Ayodhya

The final judgement in the Ayodhya land dispute case will be delivered by the Supreme Court by November 17. Ahead of this, the District Magistrate of Ayodhya district in Uttar Pradesh has imposed Section 144 in the district till December 10.

The hearings will come to an end on October 17. Muslim parties have been asked by the court to submit their arguments by the 14th. After this, two days will be given to the Hindu parties to file rejoinders.

The Ram Janambhoomi-Babri Masjid case is a highly sensitive one. When the Allahabad High Court was about to give its verdict in 2010, there were several restrictions across the country, especially in major cities like Hyderabad. This time, too, several restrictions are expected to be imposed by the Centre and State governments to prevent law and order issues. The Hindu parties want to build a Ram Temple on the disputed site. Babri Masjid stood there till December 6, 1992.
