9:40 am : The much-awaited Ayodhya verdict will be out very soon. As the country looks up to the Supreme Court, here we bring you LIVE updates and highlights of the verdict.

9:44 am : Many hours after PM Modi appealed for communal harmony, Chief Ministers of different States have also issued similar appeals.

9:47 am : Former AP CM Chandrababu Naidu has said that it's imperative that we do not get carried away due to our religious affiliations. "Let us all respect the Supreme Court’s judgment and unite to preserve peace and harmony in the society," he added.

9:50 am : Security personnel were briefed a while ago at the Supreme Court premises. All set for the verdict to be out at 10:30 am.

9:52 am : RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat will hold a presser at 1 pm hours after the verdict. Home Minister Amit Shah called a meeting of party spokespersons at his residence a while ago. He is expected to instruct the BJP's spokespersons on what to speak to the media on behalf of the party.

10:40 am : This is big. The Ayodhya verdict will be a unanimous one. So, no majority and minority view. It's just ONE view. Chief Justice just said that the court has dismissed the Special Leave Petition filed by Shia Waqf Board challenging the order of 1946 Faizabad Court

10:47 am : Chief Justice added that the Babri Masjid was built by Mir Baqi on Babur's order and added that it is "inappropriate for the Court to get into the area of theology". 10:56 am : Court says Ram Janma Bhoomi is not a juristic person. Based on Archeological Survey of India's evidence, the Court says that Babri Masjid was not constructed on vacant land. "There was a structure underlying the disputed structure. The underlying structure was not an Islamic structure," it says.

11:00 am : Court says that the finding of title to the land cannot be based only on the expert findings of the ASI. It adds that the title to the land should be decided based on established legal principles. Stunning observation: "Hindus consider Ayodhya as the birth place of Lord Ram. They have religious sentiments towards the place. Muslims call it Babri Masjid. The faith of Hindus that Ram was born here is undisputed. Hindus have faith and belief that Ram was born under the dome. Faith is a matter of individual belief." (Source: ANI)

11:05 am : Court observes that titles can’t be decided on faith/belief but on the claims. "Historical accounts indicate the belief of Hindus that Ayodhya was the birthplace of Lord Ram," it says. The court also cites evidence that Ram Chabutra and Sita Rasoi were worshipped by Hindus before the advent of the British. "Hindus were in the possession of outer court of the disputed land," CJI says. "The Babri Masjid was not abandoned by Muslims. Though the Hindus continued to worship at Ram Chabutra, they claimed ownership of the Garbh Garha too," the court says. (Source: ANI)
