BJP National President JP Nadda has on Wednesday appointed Bandi Sanjay Kumar as the State President of Telangana BJP. The Karimnagar Member of Parliament's appointment as BJP Prez comes into immediate effect.

K Laxman, the incumbent, has been shown the door. The BJP top leadership, including Kishan Reddy, is reported to have taken into account factors as different as seniority, commitment to ideology, background, posts previously hold in weighing the two options. However, "preference for a fresh face" trumped all the factors, analysts are saying.

Kumar's appointment comes on a day when the BJP is looking at forming a government in Madhya Pradesh after inducting Jyotiraditya Scindia. It's a good omen for the Telangana leader because the saffron party's spirits are super high today!
