Ban on Hardik Pandya and K.L. Rahul lifted

Team India's superstars in the making all rounder Hardik Pandya and opening batsman K.L. Rahul courted trouble after participating in Karan Johar's talk show 'Koffee with Karan' in which their remarks on women were condemned to be in bad taste and derogatory against the fairer sex. The BCCI suspended both immediately costing them their confirmed places in the just finished Australian limited overs series and the ongoing one in New Zealand.

The Committee of Administrators of the Board of Control for Cricket in India met today and have lifted the interim ban on Pandya and Rahul. The official statement read “Since the adjudication of all allegations of misconduct against any cricketer registered with, inter alia, the BCCI is required to be undertaken by the BCCI Ombudsman, whose appointment is pending directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, the CoA is the of the view that the interim suspension orders dated 11.01.2019 should be presently lifted with immediate effect.”

There are whispers of displeasure as it is felt that if the decision had come a day earlier K. L. Rahul could have played in Karnataka's knockout match in the Ranji Trophy.
