Why April is so special for Rajinikanth?

Now it is clear that Superstar Rajinikanth's Kaala will be hitting the screens on April 27, 2018. This will be a summer release for Rajinikanth after a long time.

Summer, especially April has been the best time for Rajini films  'Ninaithale Inikkum' (April 14,1979), 'Ranga' (April 14, 1982), 'Thai Veedu' (April 14, 1983) 'Thambikku Endha Ooru' (April 20, 1984), 'Guru Sishyan' (April 13, 1988) and 'Arunachalam' (April 10, 1997), 'Padayappa; (April 10, 1999) and 'Chandramukhi' (April 14,2005) are the other prominent April releases of Thalaivar. His maiden Bollywood film 'Andha Kanoon' the remake of 'Vijayakanth starrer 'Sattam Oru Iruttarai' also released on April 8, 1983.

'Padayappa' and 'Chandramukhi' have been two of the mega blockbusters in Thalaivar's illustrious career. If the former went on to do great business by running for over 275 days in theatres the later created box office history by running for more than 800 days in a particular theatre in Chennai. 'Chandramukhi' is the last film to have released in April for Rajinikanth before 'Kaala' and the phenomenon is going to repeat after 13 years.

So April month has been the lucky month for Rajinikanth and we hope 'Kaala' will create a new box office history.
