'Bhoothnath Returns' has advantage of solo release

There couldn't have been a better release for 'Bhoothnath Returns'. The film is enjoying a solo arrival for itself, which is quite a rare scenario in today's times. Yes, there is election season ahead which has resulted in filmmakers rethinking about their release strategy. However in the bargain, 'Bhoothnath Returns' now has an advantage of zero competition in theaters, which means if the film is indeed well made, it has chances to enjoy a stable week.

Having said that, the film would rely primarily on word of mouth and one can't quite expect a bumper opening in the offering. Anything in the range of 40%-50% collections by end of Friday would be a decent enough start for the film which has Amitabh Bachchan as the major star attraction. Yes, there are Shahrukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor in mini appearances too but then they haven't been kept on the promotional forefront, and rightly so, lest audience expectations touch the roof.

'Bhoothnath Returns' is the kind of film which always carries potential to grow if family audience patronizes the content. One must recall that the opening of even 'Bhoothnath' wasn't any great shakes and the film had a barely average Week One, before settling down for a lifetime total of 25 crore. The makers of the sequel would be expecting this to be the total that is accumulated in one week flat.
