Superstar Rajinikanth’s much-awaited action entertainer Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is set to hit the big screens on August 14, 2025, and the hype around the film continues to skyrocket. While anticipation is high across Tamil Nadu, the buzz is equally electric in the Telugu-speaking states.

In a strong indication of the film’s pan-Indian appeal, the Telugu theatrical rights have reportedly been acquired for a staggering ₹45+ crore by leading distributors Asian Suniel Narang, Suresh Babu, and Dil Raju. If confirmed, this will mark one of the highest pre-release business deals for a Tamil film in the Telugu market in recent years. An official announcement is expected soon.

Adding to the excitement, the first single from Coolie is set to release today at 6 PM, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, who reunites with both Rajinikanth and Lokesh for this project. Fans are eagerly awaiting what’s expected to be a chart-topping track.

The film boasts a stellar ensemble including Nagarjuna in a negative role, Shruti Haasan, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, and a special cameo by Aamir Khan. Backed by Sun Pictures, Coolie will release in multiple Indian languages, aiming for a massive Independence Day weekend opening.
