The 'Bigg Boss' show has been giving impetus to the careers of many lesser known celebrities from cinema as well as other walks of life. One such celebrity who found limelight through the reality show is YouTuber Sarayu Roy who participated in 'Bigg Boss 5 Telugu'.

Sarayu Roy courted controversy by posting a short film on her YouTube channel which irked the VHP whose president Chevuri Ashok lodged a complaint in Rajanna Sircilla police station in Hyderabad. The case was then transferred to the Banjara Hills Police who arrested the actress along with the director and producer Srikanth Reddy and actors Karthik and Krishnamohan.

It is said that the short film was made a year ago to promote a newly opened restaurant in the area. The politician had complained that it hurt the sentiments of the Hindus. The arrested were later let off and asked to appear at another date.

Sarayu Roy apart from her YouTube videos and 'Bigg Boss 5' has appeared in several films including 'Karbool', '3 Roses' and 'Tholli Parichayam'.
