Cheran, who recently participated in the reality show, Bigg Boss Tamil, has expressed his desire to direct the sequel to the 1992 blockbuster Thevar Magan, directed by Bharathan, and starring Kamal Haasan.

The National Award-winning director has said that he wishes to direct Thevar Magan 2 with Kamal Haasan in the lead but has not had a chance to meet Kamal Haasan post his exit from the Bigg Boss house. Cheran added that he will narrate the script to the veteran actor as soon as he gets the chance. Cheran, who won the National Award three times, for his movies Vetri Kodi Kattu, Autograph, and Thavamai Thavamirundhu, mentioned in the show that actor Vijay Sethupathi had insisted him to participate in the show, in order to become familiar with the current generation, who may not be aware of his works in the past.

Whether or not Cheran will finally catch a break with his ambitious project with Kamal Haasan is yet to be seen.
