Thunderstorms and lightning have caused huge damages and loss of lives in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh in the past two days, killing 110 people and leaving 32 injured. Heavy damages have been inflicted on properties as well, as said by officials from the two states.

The lightning strikes were destructive more in Bihar, where 83 people lost their lives since Wednesday, as per reports from the Disaster Management Department, Patna. Around 20 people have been injured and are hospitalised.

In neighbouring state Uttar Pradesh 24 people died struck by lightning yesterday, and 12 were seriously injured. Previously, 3 people had died due to lightning strikes in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday. Bihar's Disaster Management Department said that Gopalganj district had maximum death count of 13.
