Bill Gates praises India on digital payments trackrecord

Microsoft founder Bill Gates has lauded India for implementing the right digital payment policies. The world-famous billionaire was speaking at the Singapore Fintech Festival.

"India has built an ambitious platform for digital payments. The country has made advancements in financial innovations, thereby bringing down the cost of distributing aid to the poor," Gates said, making a special reference to India's performance during the pandemic.

"Things are really exploding in India and innovation around the digitals system is phenomenal," Gates opined.

It may be noted that digital transactions have seen exponential growth since Demonetization in 2016.
