BJP created ‘world record’ in corruption when it ruled last in Karnataka: Rahul

Congress president Rahul Gandhi has said that the BJP created a ‘world record’ in (committing) corruption when it was in power in Karnataka last year.

Karnataka goes to Assembly polls in a couple of months. The ruling Congress, led by chief-minister Siddaramaiah, is hoping to retain power for the second successive time in the State. Rahul Gandhi kicked off the party’s campaign from the Southern Districts of the States in his campaign dubbed as ‘Seeking blessings from the people of Koppal’.

Addressing public meetings yesterday, Rahul said that the Siddaramaiah-led Congress regime has so far been not accused of any corruptitious activity or misdoing. “However, this is not the case with the three chief-ministers who ruled before the Congress came to power. The BJP had created a ‘world record’ of sorts by indulging in unlimited corruption in all administrative levels.

“Prime Minister Modi speaks a lot on corruption and would do well to look at the corruptitious activities indulged in by his own partymen during the BJP’s last tenure at the helm in Karnataka. Three chief-ministers and four Ministers of BJP had been to prison on corruption charges,” Rahul thundered and urged the people to vote ‘en masse’ for the Congress so that it retains power in the State.
