BM is a contrast to Pokiri, says Puri

Shedding light on Mahesh Babu's character (Surya) in The Businessman, Puri Jagannadh has said that the protagonist's role is in full contrast with Pokiri's memorable Krishna Manohar, IPS. While the ideal character in the 2006 blockbuster was busy cleansing the mafia muck by becoming an undercover cop himself, Surya in TBM wants to become a bhai himself.

So, why the title The Businessman? It is because his business in the movie is crime! As a writer, Puri has derived immense satisfaction from penning the character. Mahesh’s character in the movie is set at another level, as a writer I am fully satisfied with his role.

The much-awaited movie (it is releasing on Jan. 13) is set in Mumbai. The director thought it prudent to incorporate some Hindi lines in the movie with the aim to add a Mumbai flavour. It will be interesting to see Mahesh speaking Hindi dialogues.

It is anticipated that Puri must have thought of a strong point as the reason why the hero wants to become a bhai. After Andhrawala, this is first time that Jagan has set a movie in the financial capital of India.
