Bollywood Directors who can get us Oscar

Every Filmmaker feels that his/her film should be appreciated by the audience and should win over hearts, and the bigger dream is to take their film to Oscar's for global recognition and to win the award. We give you the 5 Bollywood filmmakers who we think can get us Oscar.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali: When Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali sets out to make a film, one thing that's assured is the magnificent scale of the movie. From sets to costumes, drama to music, opulence is attached to everything that Mr. Bhansali does. He genuinely feels a filmmaker should always bear in mind that figures change, times change, but your commitment and passion towards your work should not change. He is very clear about what he wants and in that process he pushes himself as well as his actors and when you see the end result you know it is worth.

Tigmanshu Dhulia: The National award winning director Tigmanshu Dhulia best known for 'Paan Singh Tomar', 'Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster', 'Shagird' and 'Haasil' started his cinematic journey in 1993, as an assistant art director for Ketan Mehta's 'Sardar'. Since then, film-maker Tigmanshu Dhulia has come a long way. Today, he is a writer, actor, producer, and of course, a director. Dhulia's skills as a storyteller are remarkable and it takes a politically savvy storyteller like Tigmanshu Dhulia to convert the lowest ebb of our politics into an occasion of high drama and also experimental with other genre's as well.

Anurag Kashyup: The well acclaimed film-maker Anurag Kashyap is best known for making films on his terms, his ambitious projects and backing independent film-makers in the country. He has a penchant to shock audiences with his bold narratives that highlight the hypocrisy prevalent in our society. His films always manage to arouse curiosity and polarise opinions. Love him or hate him, but you cannot ignore him. He is Candid in his opinion, passionate about cinema and absolutely headstrong in his conviction. He is the reason that Indian cinema has found an original voice, a new champion and crusader for independent film making.

Anurag Basu: The ace director Anurag Basu best known for 'Barfi' and 'Life in a Metro'. Making a film in India is tough as every 200 kilometers the language and culture changes, so you have to make a film for different cultures inside your own country. He says, "The industry has had its ups and downs, but Indian cinema offers a different kind of entertainment. Though still looked down upon by some, it has its own distinctive character. Bollywood films are a mish-mash genre, a mix of everything. They offer wholesome entertainment, plain and simple." He would like to see mainstream audiences around the world to start appreciating our cinema in the way chicken tikka has become global, and he hopes that everybody starts enjoying Bollywood.

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra: Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra kick-started his career with a rather dark film Aks, but since then, he moved on to more commercial fare including the 2006 hit 'Rang De Basanti'. then 'Delhi 6' to 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag'. But what continue to define Rakeysh's films are the various social messages he cleverly incorporates in them. He soaks himself in the story it takes him months to come out of it. He wants people to understand his sensibilities and wants his film to linger in audience minds. He wants to push the benchmark of cinema and make waves in the world. For him film making is an addiction and he wants to stay addicted all his life.
