Amazon has now planned to venture into a new business platform in India - online movie tickets. The e-commerce giant announced that it has joined hands with India's popular online movie ticketing giant BookMyShow for introducing booking option on Amazon India site as well as app.

Earlier Amazon had started offering flight ticketing option in India in an attempt to transform its payments service Amazon Pay into a super app to cover emerging markets like India.From today India's Amazon users will be able to book movie tickets from the “movie tickets” category under “shop by category” on the shopping site or via Amazon Pay tab.

As an introductory offer, Amazon has announced that credit card users in India will get a 2% cashback on each movie ticket purchase besides also offering a cashback of up to Rs 200 for each ticket purchase till November 14 though no further details were given on who takes care of this cashback. Amazon India had earlier joined hands with Cleartrip for flight ticketing service.
