Actor Vimal is known for his rural entertainers such as 'Kalvani', 'Vaagai Sooda Va', 'Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga' and 'Kalakalappu'. His wife Priyadarshini has now turned politician and has applied for a ticket from the DMK to contest from the Manapparai constituency.

Vimal and how wife Priyadarshini met actor-producer and the DMK Youth Wing President Udhayanidhi Stalin and handed over the application. It remains to be seen if the party will indeed give the ticket to the actor's wife.
