Breaking: All passenger trains cancelled till March 31

In view of the increasing risk of Coronavirus spread, the Indian Railways on Sunday said that all passenger trains stand suspended until March 31. Only goods trains will be allowed to run, it said in an official statement.

Here is a summary of what the Railways has decided:

All long-distance trains, inter-city trains, passenger trains stand suspended.

Almost all suburban trains will stop running from the midnight of Sunday.

Freight operations shall continue uninterrupted.

With this, around 12,500 trains will stop operating. About 500 sub-urban trains will continue to operate, though.
