Breathtaking! Christopher Nolan crashed real 747 aeroplane for Tenet

Christopher Nolan is the most influential filmmaker in the modern generation and his films are the most awaited by fans all over the globe.  After delivering the Oscar-winning 'Dunkirk' the master is all set to enthrall audiences with his mind-bending Scifi fantasy thriller 'Tenet'.  In an interview with Total Film, Nolan has shed some light for the first time about the magnum opus.

It has been reported that Nolan crashed a real Boeing 747 aircraft into a hangar instead of using CG or building a set which has amazing even in Hollywood standards.  Speaking to TF he has elucidated “I planned to do it using miniatures and set-piece builds and a combination of visual effects and all the rest.  However, while scouting for locations in Victorville, California, the team discovered a massive array of old planes. We started to run the numbers... It became apparent that it would actually be more efficient to buy a real plane of the real size, and perform this sequence for real in-camera, rather than build miniatures or go the CG route.”

Nolan has further added "Call it a spur-of-the-moment purchase.  It’s a strange thing to talk about – a kind of impulse buying, I suppose, But we kind of did, and it worked very well, with Scott Fisher, our special-effects supervisor, and Nathan Crowley, the production designer, figuring out how to pull off this big sequence in camera. It was a very exciting thing to be a part of.”.

'Tenet' scheduled for release worldwide on July 17th deals with the concept of time reversing to stop World War 3 and stars John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elisabeth Debicki, Michael Caine and Dimple Kapadia in the cast.
