Businessman's three-day total is the biggest

RR Movie Makers's Businessman is by far the biggest grosser in the 81-year history of Telugu cinema. Even as the first day share hovered around more than Rs. 13 cr, the three-day total (share) has clocked an incredible 27 cr 35 lakhs. The gross is pegged at 38 cr 16 lakhs.

The unprecedented run, needless to say, is thanks to the gargantuan release (in 2000 theatres). Also, Mahesh Babu's super-stardom and Puri Jagannadh's name have worked wonders. Sankranthi festival only came in handy.

Ever since the film’s release, sections of media have overplayed the collections of Businessman. The film's overseas collections as on Day One were more than what was expected.

Trade pundits are of the opinion that the film's performance in the coming days will really decide its fate.
