C Kalyan, whose recent film 'Jai Simha' was a hit, has acquired the rights of the Prabhu Deva-starrer ‘Lakshmi’. Also starring Aishwarya Rajesh, it has been written and directed by AL Vijay. The dance drama marks the debut of Ditya Bhande, a winner of kids dance reality show.

"We are happy to own the rights of the musical dance-based film. The hero will be seen in the role of a mentor to Ditya in the movie," the producer says.

The audio will be out on August 12, while the film will hit the screens on August 24.

Also featuring Kovai Sarala, Salman Yusuff Khan, Chams, Akshat Singh, Jeet Das and Sam Paul, the film has music by Sam CS. Nirav Shah is the cinematographer. Editing is by Anthony.
