A Canadian news anchor, who has constantly been subjected to body shaming by viewers, broke her silence after a man criticized her for showing 'too much cleavage' during a news program.

The anchor, Kori Sidaway, recently received an e-mail from a person who identified himself as "Vancouver Island Cleavage Patrol." In the e-mail, he attached two pictures - one of the anchor on the news channel and another of a random woman wearing a deep V-neck dress, and included a message complaining that the anchor was showing 'too much cleavage' in her show. "TOO MUCH CLEAVAGE CAN BREAK YOUR NEWS STORY. Don't let it happen to you. Episode: Sunday Sept. 6. 5-7 PM. Attached are 2 photos. What you think we see and what we actually see. Dress appropriately, it was hard work to get there," the viewer had written. Sharing a screenshot of the message and the two pictures, Kori Sidaway wrote on her social media page, "This screenshot was sent to me and my colleagues in an attempt to shame and police my body. Well, I'm taking my power back. To the nameless computer warrior(s) who try to reduce women into an outfit or a body part — this generation of women, doesn't stand for harassment."

Soon after Kori posted the e-mail on social media, she received support from people and television personalities across the country, several of whom revealed their own stories of being harassed. "I got an anonymous handwritten letter delivered to my network two weeks ago saying 'decent men don't want to see your "low cut tops." It shows poor taste in character. Hope you come to your senses and stick to doing your job.' I hate to hear it's happening across Canada," TV host Camila Gonzalez had commented on Kori's post. Former news anchor Tamara Stanners mentioned that she "was told to always wear long sleeves" because her bare arms were too provocative.

Thanking everyone for the support and encouraging comments, Kori later wrote, "Thank you all for sharing your own stories and kind words. I feel so much less alone, so supported and so much more empowered. You helped take my lemon and made lemonade."
