A bomb threat was made to DMDK leader Vijayakanth's house in Chennai. The police on receiving the call from an anonymous person rushed to his house in Virugambakkam, Chennai, and conducted thorough search operations with the help of sniffer dogs and the bomb squad.

After the search, it was found to be a hoax and the search is on for the caller. Earlier in the past few months, similar threat calls were made to the houses of Thalapathy Vijay, Thala Ajith, and Superstar Rajinikanth which were also hoaxes.

Veteran actor turned politician Vijayakanth was recently admitted to a private hospital after testing positive for coronavirus and was discharged and was taking rest when the search happened for the hoax bomb.
