CBI issues lookout notice against actress Leena Maria Paul

Malayalam actress Leena Maria Paul, whose name was heard in a case pertaining to TDP MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao in February, is in the news once again after a CBI lookout notice was issued against her.

She has been accused of impersonation and extortion in connection with a bank fraud case. The 'Madras Cafe' and 'Red Chillies' actress is alleged to have tried to extort crores of rupees from the TDP MP with the help of two people who impersonated as CBI officers in January. Their names are Manivardhan Reddy and Selvam Ramaraj, who hail from Hyderabad and Madurai, respectively.

NDTV reported in February that the duo had confessed that the conspiracy was hatched by Leena, a partner of Sukesh Chandrasekar, who is accused in a number of India-wide cheating cases.

The lookout notice was issued against Leena because the CBI had information that she might flee India.
