After Ajay Devgn and Kiccha Sudeep's Twitter war let us take a look back at five stars who spoke against Hindi imposition in the past.

Rajinikanth

Back in 2019 after Amit Shah expressed his interest in making Hindi a unifying language and said "Hindi should not be imposed".

AR Rahman

In 2022, after Home Minister Amit Shah once again stirred up controversy Rahman shared an illustration of "Thamizhanangu" (Goddess Tamil). and wrote, "Beloved Tamil is the root of our existence."

Siddharth

In 2019 Siddharth spoke up against the National Educational Policy and the Hindi bias in it.

Simbu

After Amit Shah's comments about Hindi replacing English as the second language, Simbu AKA Silambarasan TR took to Twitter to share a tweet, which reads, "Let us unite in the name of Tamil," with a pro-Tamil hashtag #TamilConnects.

Yuvan Shankar Raja -

After the emotive issue of Hindi imposition sprung up Yuvan Shankar Raja was seen wearing a t-shirt with the prints "Hindi Theriyadhu Poda" ( Buzz off, I don't know Hindi) and 'I am a Tamizh Pesum Indian'. ( I am a Tamil-speaking Indian).

Director Karu Pazhaniappan

Keeping the trend of Hindi Theriyadhu poda alive director Karu Pazhaniappan also wore a T-shirt to show his support

Vetrimaaran

Director Vetrimaaran was subjected to humiliation for not speaking in Hindi at Delhi airport. He wore a white t-shirt with I am a Tamizh Pesum Tamizhan to oppose Hindi Imposition.

Karunakaran

Just like Karu Pazhaniappan, Karunakaran also joined the group and showered his support with Hindi Theriyadhu poda T-shirt.

Shanthanu Bhagyaraj and Kiki Vijay

Shanthanu and his wife celebrated their mother tongue with the Hindi Theriyadhu Poda t-Shirts.

Aishwarya Rajesh

Though Aishwarya's mother tongue is Telugu she joined the Hindi Theriyadhu poda movement and posed with her brother.
