Celebs should be thick skinned while using social media, says Angad Bedi

The rise of social media has changed the dynamics between fans and celebrities in a significant way. While stars can now easily expnand their fanbase by being active on social media, fans get to have a insight into the lives of their favourite stars. However, social media is a twin edged sword. It is a great publicity tool but it can also be a source of toxicity and negativity.

In a recent interview, actor Angad Bedi shared that celebs shouldn't confuse their social media followers for their fans and that they should be think skinned about the trolling and backlash that might come towards them. Angad told The Indian Express, "People are mistaking their number of followers on social media as a fanbase. They are two different things. The fanbase is the number of people who like your work and go out to watch it, they may or may not follow you on social media. The followers on social media are based on how much you post on social media. The more you post, the more followers you have.”

The actor further shared, “It’s a great medium. You just have to use it to your advantage. But then be thick-skinned about the comments, and the number of likes. If you are doing it for work, just do it for that. I do it for work. I put up pictures of my styling as people want to know how you are looking since it is an appearance-based industry. But beyond that, you have to peace out and relax in your own head.”
