ISRO chief K Sivan, who has become a symbol of India's aspirations since yesterday, has on Sunday shared a splendid piece of news. Vikram Lander has been located on the lunar surface via thermal image.

The orbiter has clicked a thermal image of the lander. But there has been no communication yet. We are trying to have contact, Sivan has been quoted saying.

It may be noted that the lander was supposed to land on the moon's surface at 1:55 am on Saturday. However, just three minutes before the scheduled landing, it lost contact with Earth.

Very soon, India is expected to join the league of US, Russia and China in placing a spacecraft on the moon.
