Rumour mills are working round the clock in Filmnagar with buzz that Ram Charan's next project 'Merupu' has been called off due to sky high budgets. Grapevine is the film's director Dharani quoted a stunning amount of Rs 40 crore as the budget for this film which shocked Charan forcing him to call the project off.

The movie stars Kajal Agarwal with Charan and was supposed to start shooting in December last year. However, director Dharani's estimated budget of Rs 35 crore minus the star remunerations gave Ram Charan and the producers food for thought. They are likely to cancel the movie since such high budgets are risky propositions offlate.

However, an official statement is yet to come on this rumour and only Charan and Dharani can confirm the news.
