With Charmme being served a notice in connection with the drug scandal, she is reportedly "disturbed". An English-language daily has been quoted saying by her father, Deep Singh Uppal, that her mother too is "heartbroken".
Charmme is the only female actress, with the exception of Mumaith Khan, to be named as a suspect in the drug racket. While her parents are unhappy over the turn of events, they are very confident that her innocence will be established.
The actress, a close business partner of Puri Jagannadh, is going to be questioned by investigating authorities later this week. (Puri is the first Tollywoodian to face this inquiry)
