Chatrapathi

Chatrapathi. The name immediately conjures up image of valor and grace as symbolized by the legendary Maratha King Shivaji whose title Chatrapathi.

Valor and grace are indeed the qualities that Prabhas needs to perk up his career that has suddenly and unexpectedly gone wrong.

Prabhas, if you remember, was the toast of the industry after the spectacular Varsham.

But after that, things inexplicably went wrong for him. His Adavi Ramudu was just an average grosser. Then there was the big disaster of Chakram.

So Prabhas now finds himself desperate for a hit.

And Chatrapathi looks the kind of film that may satisfy his kind of fans.

It is an out and out action film interspersed with gritty romance. In other words, it is Varsham revisited.

Directed by the redoubtable Rajamouli, Chatrapathi features Prabhas in an author-backed role. He gets to flex his muscles and dance to delight ---something his fans just love.

Cast opposite Prabhas is Shreya --- who again is proving to be an enigma to be all enigmas. The beautiful actress has not had a hit since heaven knows when. But her films keep coming out as if on an assembly line.

She has a typical role in Chatrapathi. She needs a big success. But knowing her, it wouldn't matter, even if the film fails to do well. She will still find herself roles to act.

Chatrapathi has some interesting backdrop ----something that has been kept a secret.

The film, produced by Bogavalli Prasad, has taken time to make it to the theaters.

Hopefully, the wait is worth it. Set for release this month-end.
