Last year, director Maniratnam had made the Multi-starrer Chekka Chivantha Vaanam that starred Vijay Sethupathi, Arvind Swamy, Simbu, Arun Vijay, Jyothika, Aishwarya Rajesh and Aditi Rao Hydari, and the movie was a commercial success.

Chekka Chivantha Vaanam had Bengaluru based model Dayana Erappa making her debut in Tamil playing Simbu's pair and now the actress has bagged her second Tamil movie, opposite Jayam Ravi.

Dayana Erappa has been reportedly signed to star in Jana gana mana directed by Ahmed and co-starring Taapsee Pannu. The movie also stars KGF Ramchandra, Elnaaz Norouzi and MS Baskar and is being shot in Azerbaijan.
